We received a call for emergency water restoration in Charlotte from a situation of water damage at a home on Harrowfield Rd. that completely caught the customer by surprise. The customer explained that the night before they found a little bit of water on the floor and did not know why it was there but they found it on a floor in the bathroom and thought perhaps maybe one of the kid spilled something or discard out the shower dripping wet. Unfortunately what they did not know was this was the beginning of a very large situation of water damage that in most situations most people would not have to deal with. The customer made some minor upgrades to the bathroom and installed a new toilet a few days prior and everything seemed to be perfectly fine until they needed water restoration services. After finding a lot of water damage in the bathroom and water damage in the hallway as well as in the kitchen due to the amount of water that was leaking everywhere the customer quickly found out the hard way that there was an issue with their new toilet. Shortly after discovery and they looked online for water restoration companies and sharley and contacted us at property restoration inc to come by in investigate the cause of the water damage and provide them with water mitigation services to get everything dried up as soon as possible. Once we arrived to start the water damage cleanup process we went directly to the source of the water damage and found a small crack. This was the reason that the toilet kept running and leaking water onto the floor.

Old Water Line Floods Bathroom in Charlotte Home
Today’s call for water damage cleanup was from a customer that was experiencing a problem with the water line under the bathroom sink. the customer explained that she discovered water damage to her bathroom floor and her hallway when her children finish doing the chores which was part of the bathroom. one of the kids explained to the customer that after they put up some of the cleaning supplies they noticed water coming from under the sink leaking onto the bathroom floor but did not think anything of it at the time. This ended up creating a large amount of water damage to the area because of the amount of time the water was leaking and the fact that it was just sitting there for some time before the kids brought it to the mother’s attention. She contacted us for water damage restoration services shortly after she discovered it but she was unable to tell us how it happened. When we arrive to proceed with the water restoration process one of the first things that we always do as we look for the source to figure out what is causing the water damage in also figure out if the source has stopped damaging the home with more and more water migrating to different areas of the home. When we look we realize that the cause of the water damage cleanup that were working on was due to a faulty line somehow the line probably was defective when it was first purchase because they’re not supposed to leak. The customer did not change anything under the sink they did not have anything unusual under the sink but the rubber on the line did feel like it was dry for no reason and this right there is probably the main cause for the need of water restoration.

Sewer Backup in Charlotte Home on Welford Rd
today we had another call for water restoration in Charlotte from a customer off of welford road in the East Charlotte area of the town. the customer advised us that for some unknown reason water was backing into the house from the downstairs bathroom toilet. The customer was not sure how long it was doing this but she needed to have it resolved as soon as possible because the water damage was seeping into the walls the carpet and the entire flooring of the downstairs of the house. Once we arrived to provide the water damage cleanup services we first opened up the clean-out on the outside of the house to release the pressure to keep water from backing into the house and then we proceeded with the rest of our water damage procedures. Now we also advised the customer to look for a nearby plumber in the Charlotte area to come by and resolve what drainage issues she had so this doesn’t happen again. due to the amount of time the water was back into the house and causing water damage the scope of our work was a little different than the typical sewer backup that may have been happening for a short time this one was backing up a little longer because there was a slow run into one of the pipes that cause water to continually go down the drain this resulted in a continuous flow of water non-stop 24 hours a day so though we release the pressure on the outside portion of the pipe the water was still flowing which cause the water to continually flow into the house non-stop for a long time once the backup started while the customer wasn’t home. After the extraction and disinfectant and removal of materials in the house that came in contact with the sewage water the dry out wasn’t that difficult because the type of foundation the customer had was concrete and it just wasn’t the type along with the weather to let the water Sea Bright in plus we got all of the wet material out which made the drying so much easier to start so we’re hoping that the water mitigation process will be completed in the next few days and we will close this chapter and this customer dealings with water restoration.
