Similar to our water damage clean up call from yesterday the hose on some appliances in the kitchen always seem to fail every now and then. This morning we received a call for a flooded kitchen due a leak in the hose for the dishwasher.

This afternoon our customer on Flintgrove Rd came home from work to find water flowing down the driveway even thou it was not raining. She parked the car and looked for the source and followed it to the garage door. The source of the leak was a broken hose behind her refrigerator in the kitchen. After extracting a ton of water from multiple areas in the kitchen, and throughout the house we spent the last 5 hours planning for the demo and our approached to drying all of the water damaged areas starting in the morning.

During the super bowl this evening a lot of families and friends had a great time watching the game together but for one family in a neighborhood off of Randolph Rd in Charlotte they had such a great time watching the game someone forgot to off the faucet unclog the sink after making a glass of water. This resulted in a flooded kitchen with water damage in the dinning room and living room. In the middle of the game the couple noticed water seeping into the living room and started looking for a leak. When we arrived to provide water restoration services they estimated the water was running for at least an hour flooding multiple rooms before they realized what was happening and stopped the flow of water to prevent further water damage.

Dishwasher leaks overnight into South Charlotte home off Sharon rd. Working in water restoration in Charlotte over the years we have learned that in life we all have a love hate relationship with appliances. So often a lot of our water damage clean up calls are for leaking and failed appliances.

As a water damage clean up company in Charlotte we frequently hear customer stories about how the kids flooded their home and this mornings water restoration customer is no different. We received a call early this morning because apparently before getting on the school bus the kids where playing in sink and flooded their south Charlotte home.

Today’s water damage call was for a home in Mint Hill on Versage Dr. The owner purchased his home in 2005. Over the years he made upgrades in the kitchen where you would most likely find water damage but one of the things he did not upgrade was in-between the kitchen and the Garage. The water heater is at least as old as the date of purchase and after 15 years It may have been it’s time. After coming home from work they contacted us for emergency water restoration service to clean up all the water released from the failed water heater. Before getting started with our water mitigation services we had to wait for the gas company to turn off the supply to the water heater then we got to work by extracting water that was standing in multiple areas of the house to minimize the amount of water damage to the house.

When providing water restoration and water mitigation services we come across more reasons for water damage then we can imagine but one that happens more often then you would think is the typical bathtub overflow. This was the reason for our call for emergency water cleanup services on Beverly Dr. in south Charlotte this morning. While preparing a bath for their 4 year old one of the older kids missed the bus so the parents drove the child to school and forgot the water was running into the bathtub which resulted is a large amount of water damage to the bathroom and living room flooding at least half the house with standing water in certain areas.
