A bad dishwasher installation lead to a call for water damage cleanup in Charlotte from a customer on kempsford drive today.the customer advised that somewhere during the installation process the water line was severed in water shot all over the place without stopping. to make matters worse the installation contractor that they hired did not know how to shut the water off at the main line and there was an issue with the water valve under the sink that prevented the water from stopping and caused more and more water damage. after some time attempting to clean up the water damage their self the customer look for water restoration companies in the Charlotte area and contacted us at Property Restoration Inc.

we received a call this morning for water damage cleanup at home in Charlotte that was experiencing water damage due to a leak in the water line connecting to the dishwasher. which is typical with a lot of our clients and customers of other Charlotte water restoration companies our customer stated they washed their dishes in the evening with the expectation that when they wake up everything will be clean and or dry. Instead they found there self in need of a water restoration company. The customer explained that they turned on the dishwasher last night but woke up to a flooded kitchen and flooded living room with water damage to the floors and walls. after looking online for water mitigation companies they contacted us. To lessen the chance of more water damage before our arrival we explained to the customer on how to turn water off at the main line if the shut off valve under the sink did not stop the flow of water.

we received another call for water damage cleanup in Charlotte from a customer that was experiencing water damage due to her kids playing in the kitchen and the breaking a faucet. The customer told us that while the kids were playing one of them yanked the faucet a little too hard which caused water to shoot all over the place and to make things worse the kids ran into the bedroom to hide and did not notify their mother that the water was spilling all over the place until it was too late. when the mom went downstairs she realize that this was something very serious and she needs to find a water restoration company in Charlotte to cleanup the water. during the phone call when she described what was taking place she was unaware that there was an easy fix or solution to stop water from coming in while she waited for us to arrive we instructed her to go under the sink and turn off the shut-off valve which immediately stop the flow of water into the house lessening the amount of potential water damage and water extraction that we would need to address when we made it to the home.

Today we received a quite interesting call for water restoration in Charlotte. The customer explained that he is a landlord and one of his vacant properties were vandalized and things were stolen for the value of the metal that it contains. when the customer arrived at his rental property he noticed that there was water all over the place and a lot of the home was suffering from water damage and water was still coming throughout the building and leaking from and through the walls in multiple areas after walking around to find out why the water damage was taking place he came across an area in the closet in the kitchen where the water heater is supposed to be however the water heater was apparently missing which led him to believe that the water heater was stolen. it wasn’t hard for him to realize that the water heater was stolen because the side door was actually kicked in which further the reason why he thought the house was broken into and things were stolen but what made the scenario even worse was the continuation of water damage that further victimized is his home and put it in a very very bad condition. When we arrive to move forward with the water mitigation process one thing that we noticed was there was so much drywall that has fallen due to the amount of water that was running all over the place the humidity in the house was sky-high and the floors seemed mushy and areas because they were literally soaking we came to the realization that this must have been flowing for days without the owner even knowing because of the amount of saturation that took place in the house and the depth of the water damage was very very extensive.

This morning we received a call for water damage cleanup after the customer returned home from grocery shopping to notice the shower was still on and water was everywhere inside of the home. After walking inside he noticed the carpet was wet and parts of the ceiling had water damage and caved in. He quickly relized the source and turned the shower off immediately. After shocked kicked in he was very overwhelmed by the scope of water cleanup needed and contacted us for water restoration services. When we arrived to start the water damage cleanup process one of the first things that we had to do was remove as much of the furniture as possible and extract and keep extracting this water because the shower was running for so long it just created basically a lake on the top floor of his house all the way to the bottom floor and we had to take out so much of the water it was it was just more than what most of our water restoration calls have when it amounts to water damage. After some heavy extraction and moving the furniture we were able to proceed with drying out the house and getting everything back to normal for this customer.
