Dishwasher leak in South Charlotte
Dishwasher leaks can happen from time to time and today was a great example of a cause for water damage from a failing appliance. Today’s service call for water damage clean up was from a home in South East Charlotte. As normal the water was discovered a few hours after the leak begin. Our customer Mr. Holmes is a DIY homeowner and he recently put in the dishwasher. Unfortunately when her put it in he did not know the supply line was not secure and it would eventually give way causing the standing water in the kitchen we had to take care of today. This case was somewhat server as the water did a lot of damage to the cabinets and baseboards and small sections of wall. All because of a DIY job that did not go as planned the family at this home has to wait out the heat from the dehumidifier and possibly get a new dishwasher.

Water Restoration Secondary Damage
Response time to water restoration clean up calls is critical when considering the amount of water damage that is currently taking place and the amount that can be prevented which is called secondary damage. This is something that we had to address today with a call for a leak with water stains on her floor and under the sink. The customer ignored the issues for sometime and by not responding in a timely manner there is damage that could have been prevented.

Avoiding water damage can be hard because the causes of some water clean up calls could be so unpredictable. A few things I learned as a water restoration in Charlotte is that you never know when your kitchen sink supply line is going to fail. Matthews Water Damage From Broken Faucet
Today’s water clean up call was a big one. The home owner arrived to her home outside of Charlotte in Matthews to find water gushing out of her front door due to a broken pipe in the bathroom on the top floor. A large amount of the home is flooded with water damage to the second floor ceiling and bottom floor. The faucet knob to the master bath tub broke leaving this home with an extreme amount of water damage. We had to rip up the carpet in all of the upstairs bedroom and half of the carpet in the downstairs.

East Charlotte Water Damage Washing Machine Leak
So often we are called to mitigate water damage due to a washing machine leak from a failure in some part either the hose or mechanically inside. For one of our restoration calls today this is exactly the situation we had to handle. Fortunately it was notice early enough that we were able to resolve potential water damage with simple water extraction and a few air movers. This could have been very worst because the laundry room was on the second floor. The family happen to notice the carpet in the hallway was getting wet before the water can get to a level to damage the walls and flow to the bottom level

Typical Times of Water Damage
As a water restoration company in Charlotte there is one thing that seems to remain always the same and that is the time of our water clean up calls. It always seems to be between 4pm and 6 or 6am and 9am. The reason we receive most of our water damage calls around those time is because of the typical times water damage is discovered which is when you wake up in the morning or when you return home from work. Over the last week I experienced both times for the typical reasons one of the calls for water damage clean up in Charlotte was found when the owner returned from work and the other is when the homeowners son was getting ready for school while the parents where still asleep. The remedy for this is to make sure all hoses and appliances are well cared for.

South Park Water Supply Line Leak in Charlotte
This morning we had an emergency call for water clean up in Charlotte due to a toilet supply line leak at a condo in South Park. The water flowed from the middle floor to the bottom floor unnoticed through the night because the master bedroom is on the top floor. It was discovered in the morning when the owners woke up to go to church this morning.

Toilet Leak in Charlotte
In North Carolina water damage in Charlotte can be very extensive due to the humidity in the air especially in the spring. Luckily for the Thompson family the weather in Charlotte decided to cooperate when they discovered water leaking in their south Charlotte home. At 4:45pm we received a call for service from Mrs. Thompson because while they were away from home at work for over 8 hours there toilet leaks from the second floor to the first floor. The dry wall was soaked and the ceiling was caving in and pieces of sheet rock was falling along with the water.
