When the weather man says let your pipes drip slowly this is a critical warning all should pay close attention to so water damage does not happen in their home. Winter Water Damage From Pipes
Depending on what part of the country you live in during the winter one of the most common types of water damage is from pipes bursting after they freeze. The cause of a pipe burst is due to the expansion of water when it freezes. A way to explain this is similar to putting a full water bottle in the freezer after you take it out the water bottle is somewhat bigger because plastic in water bottles is more flexible then a pipe. The end result of water damage is typically found when the water in the pipe thaws leaving a need for water damage clean up.

South Charlotte Sewer Backup
This morning we cleaned up water damage in south Charlotte due to a sewer back up into the home. After arriving on the job we identified the source as a clogged main line which force all the water that was supposed to exit the home back into the home through the weakest point which in this case was the shower drain on the first floor.

Dealing With The Stress of Water Damage
After speaking with some of our past water damage customers in Charlotte NC one thing that they all had in common while going through the process of water restoration and clean-up is the feeling that their home is destroyed. This feeling definitely effected all due to the water but some because they did not understand the reason for demo. Bottom Floor Sewer Backup
For us at Property Restoration Inc. we find many circumstances that lead to calls for water damage clean up in Charlotte. Lat week primary call for service was a large sewer back up as a home in the Northlake area of Charlotte. The customer uses the home as a rental property and his tenant first discovered water coming out of the downstairs toilet and turned off the toilet at the valve and thought nothing of it only to find water from the sewer drain everywhere the following morning.

Water Leak in Charlotte Southend House
At Property Restoration Inc on average when we meet our water damage customers at their homes it is their first time learning about water restoration and the dangers of untreated water damage. That was the case with one of our service calls in the Southend neighborhood of Charlotte this afternoon. The home owner was washing cloths this morning when the supply hose started leaking. Naturally she thought she can get up all the water herself but after a few hours of trying to dry the water with towels, blankets, and everything else you can imagine she notice how far the water traveled under the floor and realized how hard it can be to tackle water damage.

East Charlotte Bathroom Water Damage
Often we teach our children to close the door after coming inside but as a technician for water restoration in Charlotte I add we should teach our children is to turn of the water after washing their hands. That was the cause of a water damage call we had today in east Charlotte. After washing his hands our customer’s son did not turn off the water and went downstairs to eat. A few minutes later he noticed water coming down the ceiling in the kitchen. Immediately our client rushed upstairs to turn off the water. Shortly after we arrived to dry out the affected areas.

Water Overflow in South Charlotte
Water overflows are a common cause of water damage This morning we got a call for water restoration services to clean up the entire first floor of a home off Mckee rd. in Charlotte. The home owner woke up this morning to get the kids ready for school and realized they did not turn off the water in the downstairs bathroom after washing the kids hands after dinner. For almost 8 hours the water flowed freely creating an enormous amount of water damage soaking their entire first floor, the walls, and furniture of their home. When she realized what was happing water was flowing out of the front door.
