Super Bowl of a Water Leak in Charlotte Home
During the super bowl this evening a lot of families and friends had a great time watching the game together but for one family in a neighborhood off of Randolph Rd in Charlotte they had such a great time watching the game someone forgot to off the faucet unclog the sink after making a glass of water. This resulted in a flooded kitchen with water damage in the dinning room and living room. In the middle of the game the couple noticed water seeping into the living room and started looking for a leak. When we arrived to provide water restoration services they estimated the water was running for at least an hour flooding multiple rooms before they realized what was happening and stopped the flow of water to prevent further water damage.

Water Heater Leak in Mint Hill
Today’s water damage call was for a home in Mint Hill on Versage Dr. The owner purchased his home in 2005. Over the years he made upgrades in the kitchen where you would most likely find water damage but one of the things he did not upgrade was in-between the kitchen and the Garage. The water heater is at least as old as the date of purchase and after 15 years It may have been it’s time. After coming home from work they contacted us for emergency water restoration service to clean up all the water released from the failed water heater. Before getting started with our water mitigation services we had to wait for the gas company to turn off the supply to the water heater then we got to work by extracting water that was standing in multiple areas of the house to minimize the amount of water damage to the house.

Water Damage From Freezing Pipes
With the bitter cold of the winter setting with unusual temperatures well below what the Charlotte North Carolina area is used to many people are waking up with frozen pipes only to return home after work to a flood. When pipes freeze they sometime expand and can cause a leak that can cause a large amount of water damage in your home. This can take place suddenly or gradually due to the leak. Some customers will notice the water damage immediately and others may not notice it for days or weeks depending on the amount of water leaking out of the damaged pipe. This is not as common in the Charlotte area but with temperatures in the teens for the past week it is happening. If you notice water coming from behind the walls this may be what is happening and you should contact Property Restoration Inc for emergency water restoration services to dry out the water damaged areas of your home.

Drying Concrete after Water Damage
During a recent water damage project for one of our customers in Charlotte in the south park area we had to remove her hardwood floors from the slab because of buckling. After this we went forward with the normal drying process we do after any flood and everything seemed to dry except for the foundation. It was puzzling at first as we thought could it be because the moisture content in concrete can be difficult to lower for a variety of reasons. As a water damage clean up specialist in Charlotte we have encountered this scenario before with everything in the house drying perfect but the concrete slab is not drying to ideal levels. After running fans and 2 dehumidifiers or 2 extra days without success we decided to see if the moisture content we where reading is typical for the area and luckily we did
