As a water restoration company in Charlotte we typically do not deal with water damage that arises from hurricane or tropical storm‘s. Because of the geography of charlotte some causes of water damage does not effect us we are located further in land which protects us from things such as storm surge ocean floods or the types of tropical weather systems that effect the coast causing water damage to people throughout the state of North Carolina. This week we finally wrapped up one of the many calls for water restoration services in Charlotte related to hurricane Florence because this was not your typical tropical weather system it was so massive that some of the water damage that people were experiencing on the coast was also being felt here in Charlotte with multiple homes under water on the first level or situations that cause the crawlspaces garages and other parts of a home to be impacted by water damage. Water Heater Fails Flooding Charlotte Home
Customer called this afternoon for water restoration in Charlotte due to a failed water heater. The customer stated once he returned home from work they noticed water coming from under the garage door pouring down the driveway which was puzzling to them because they do not have a sprinkler and they were wondering where did water come from. After walking inside they realize the water heater in the utility closet was the cause of the water damage that they are noticing throughout the house. As he walked around he realize that there was a significant amount of water damage to the floors in the kitchen and the hallway of the house along with multiple areas of saturated drywall and the untility closet. After panicking for sure. The first thing they did before looking for a water mitigation company would turn the water off at the mainline the husband grabbed a pair of pliers and ran to the water meter to stop the water from coming in after a few seconds of trying to turn it he was successful in turning off the water in the house which stops the continuation of the water damage that was already taking place. Once we arrived we went straight to the water extraction and extracted the water for about an hour in the kitchen, garage, and utility room. After we finish the extraction we went forward with the rest of the water damage cleanup process by demoing the areas of the house that require demolition after that we set up the fans in the dehumidifiers and according to the water damage readings we would only need to dry the house for three days.

Bathtub Flooded Providence Road Charlotte House
We received a call for water mitigation in Charlotte at a home off of Providence Road that was experiencing water damage due to a bathtub overflow. The customer called around 3 PM this afternoon stating that they left their tub on this morning when they left home to run a couple errands and pick up things for an event they were having for Labor Day. When the customer made it back home she noticed water coming out of her front door slowly dripping into the driveway. After walking inside the customer stated that with every step water with splash up out of the carpet and the walls and water stains about 3 inches high in a lot of areas she went upstairs to find a bathtub still running in quickly turned it off and after looking around she noticed that a lot of the ceilings on the first floor had water damage as well because the tub was sending water throughout the house which meant that it had nowhere else to go causing the drywall in the ceiling to collapse due to the excessive amount of water. At we arrive to provide water damage cleanup services the first thing we did was turn off the electricity this is because the amount of water that was throughout the house created a situation that could lead to someone getting electrocuted because the water came in contact with some of the wires we had to bring our generator to provide power for the first stage of the mitigation process to extract the latter the water that was remaining inside of the house and after that we proceeded with the rest of the water damage cleanup in water restoration process.
