Rusted Pipe Caused Water Damage at Charlotte Home
Water damage to your home or business happens when you least expect in most situations. No one wakes up in the morning and says “you know today would be a good time for my house to flood so a Charlotte water restoration company can come over and do their water damage cleanup thing”. Thats something that just doesnt happen. If home owners can predict when water damage will occur and they will need to contact a water mitigation compang alot of the issues that arrise and make water restoration companies necessary would be resolved before that pipe breaks or tub overflows.

Bathroom Upgrades Cause Water Damage to Charlotte Home Sunday Morning
today’s call for water restoration in Charlotte was not one of our typical calls. Typically we receive a lot of our calls either in the morning or in the afternoon and it is because of something like a broken pipe a busted water heater that is leaking all over the place a hose for a washing machine so many issues that are related to home owners or the things that they are working with inside of their home that cause water damage on a regular basis but today’s call for water damage in Charlotte that we had to answer was a little bit different. For the most part when we receive a phone call for water damage cleanup at a customer’s home it is either in the morning or in the afternoon and it is typically because of a few common issues that cause water damage in the need for water restoration companies to come to your home it could be something like a broken water heater a leaking pipe in the wall or a leaking pipe under your sink what today’s score for water damage cleanup that we had to respond to was not caused by the typical common reasons we come to a customer’s home to aid in the water damage cleanup process this call was because of a mistake caused by a contractor.

Water Heater Floods Charlotte Home in University Area
Water heaters account for a good amount of our calls for water restoration in Charlotte nationwide this is pretty much the same for water mitigation companies. This is because when a water heater goes bad, they are holding a large amount of water and the way it fails can determine if the water remains inside or creates a disaster with water damage in the surrounding areas of the home. With the risk of water damage in mind a failing water heater is pretty much a guarantee for most homeowners at some point and time and this morning was not any different. Early this morning we received a call from a customer in the university area of Charlotte due to a leaking water heater spraying water into the kitchen causing water damage to the entire first floor of the home. The water heater itself was not in bad shape but the inlet pipe appeared to have rusted before the shutoff valve which meant there was no way to turn the water off to the water heater unless water was turned off at the main. To minimize the amount of water damage we tried to explain to the customer how to turn the water off at the meter before we arrived but rightfully so the customer was hysterical and did not know what to do. When we arrived the first thing, we did was turn off the water to the house and started with water damage cleanup.

Charlotte Home Flooded by Running Shower
We got a call for water damage cleanup in Charlotte from a customer that was experiencing water damage because they were running late for work and forgot to turn the water off after getting in the shower. The customer stated that they were concerned that the water was left on with at their property and they were on their way back home to confirm that the water was still on but needed us to come by at the same time to provide emergency water mitigation services to their home in Charlotte. After getting settled at work the customer felt concerned that the water was still running and before calling us for water restoration services they wanted to confirm. So the customer look on their phone to access the video surveillance of their home and verified that there was definitely water damage taking place because he could hear water running and see things that look like it may have been damaged by water in the video so at that time the customer called us for water restoration services and made their way home. When made it to the customers home before they did and could tell water damage was taking place because water broke the seal of the property and was coming under the walls and out the door. As we waited for the customer to arrive to mitigate additional water damage we turned off the water to the house from the street.
