  • After Church Pipe Leak

Water damage was not on their agenda, the plan was to go to church but they were in for a different type of restoration. Water mitigation is something that we never think about until we are in the middle of a flood. Today’s customer found their self-thinking about water restoration due to a faulty pipe. After returning from Church our customer walked into their home and felt the carpet and pad was completely saturated. They immediately suspected it was a water leak and followed the trail of water damage to the area of the source which was coming from behind the wall in the kitchen. They found water trickling in from behind the baseboard and started looking for a company for water restoration in Charlotte. When we arrived, the water was still going and we went right to work first by turning off the water at the main line and then by cutting open the wall at the source the water damage was coming from which turned out as expected it was a broken pipe.

  • Afternoon Water Heater Leak

Water damage from a failed water heater can be the worst for our customers for water restoration services. That is exactly what we experienced early this afternoon. Our customer started hearing a hissing sound and ignored it for a few hours thinking it was from the neighbors doing yard work. Soon after the hissing sound stopped the sound of running water also went ignored until she realized that her husband was not running water and they looked for the source only to discover all of the perils that lead to the need to water mitigation. There was standing water in the kitchen and in the living room the carpet and pad where completely saturated due to the length of time the water was leaking unimpeded from the water heater in the closet into the rest of the house.

  • Sprinkler Living Room Flood

While working in water restoration in Charlotte we have seen all types situations for water damage cleanup from a wide array of causes. This afternoon we answered a water mitigation call for one of the least likely causes of water damage. Our client recently installed a new automatic water sprinkler system without the help of professionals. He apparently did something wrong because when he returned home from work this afternoon his living room had a vast amount of water damage and was flooded. The reason he was in need of water mitigation services was because his window was open all day and the automatic sprinkler was aimed at the window and did not turn at all. This basically meant that the water that was supposed to go on the grass went into his Living room for a few hours.

  • Blocked Gutter Floods Home

Water damage can be easily prevented at times with simple maintenance around the house. We received 2 preventable calls for water restoration in Charlotte because of the rain storm yesterday. The need for both calls for water mitigation was caused by leaves in debris in the wrong areas around the house. The first call involved a blocked drain and this calls water damage was caused by leaves stock in the gutters. The customer walked into her house to find water running down the walls from the ceiling area. Because of the location I can tell the source was not a pipe but it was coming from outside. The rain was coming down so much the blockage in the gutter made the water elevate past the top of the gutter and flow in between the tiles causing water damage to the ceiling and walls of the home.

  • Basement Flooded in Mooresville

Water damage in the spring is inevitable in some communities. Yesterday’s storm in Charlotte, NC took a large toll on the community with wind and rain water restoration companies are busy cleaning up large amounts of water damage at Charlotte homes and businesses. Once of our calls for water mitigation in Charlotte was because of a flooded basement at a home in the Mooresville area. During the rain storm the homeowner forgot to close a window located at the top of the basement which is at ground level with the homes foundation. This resulted in water rushing into the basement causing significant water damage to walls portions of the ceiling and the entire floor in the basement. The main reason so much water damage accumulated was because the drainage from the house flowed right pass the window typically but a pile of leaves and other materials in the yard redirected the flow of water into the window which was open.

A pipe burst in an unoccupied third floor apartment and the second floor tenant woke up to water falling from the ceiling flooding the entire unit with a large amount of water damage to various areas.
