We received a call for water restoration in Rock Hill SC right outside of Charlotte due to a pipe burst in a hallway wall. The customer noticed issues with the drywall a day before then all of the sudden after coming home from a Mother’s Day lunch the house was flooded with the entire carpet saturated and water wicked up the walls after looking around to find where the water damage is coming from she thought about the area of drywall that looked weak recently and she noticed water flowing from under the baseboard. When we arrived, we turned off the water to the property and had to proceed with a large amount of demo starting with almost all of the first floor drywall in the living room, kitchen, dining room, hallways, and bathroom. We had 2 calls for water restoration in Charlotte today with one customer waking up to a large amount of water damage with at least an inch of standing water in her kitchen due to sink overflow overnight. She unsure of who caused the water damage but she knows that the water faucet in her kitchen was running for at least 7 hours through the night. Typically, water damage does not happen immediately due to water running unless there is a clog but unfortunately in this situation the overflow caused water damage because their where dishes in the sink that prevented the water from draining causing the need for water mitigation services. Fortunately, most of the water damage was contained to the kitchen because of the design of the home so all of the demo will be to the floors and walls in the kitchen along with the cabinets. For the size of a water damage claim of this type this is going to be a pretty easy home to dry.
